“For God so (houtos, in this way ) loved (agapao) the world (people), that he gave his only Son (monogenés, one of a kind), that whoever believes(pas ho pisteuōn, all the believing) in him should not perish(apollumi, destroy) but have eternal(aiónios, unending) life.
The extent of Gods love is expressed by the extent of his gift. God loves the world and gives what he loves the most..His son. Why? so they should not perish and have eternal life.
God made the rules, I admit humbly that i wonder why something has to die in order for something to live. The wages of sin it death. With out the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sin. When it finally sunk in to my being, that I was a wretched sinner and my sin killed his son, But the son laid his life down and took my place and took the wrath and punishment that was awaiting me one day if i remained where I was. When it finally hit me….it broke me.
At that moment, I knew there was more to believing than just recognizing who Jesus was. The gift is free, but the evidence I received the gift is I follow the shepherd . And what he ask of me is not a burden , because he laid his life down for me and died in my place. Glory to the Lamb!!
